Note on Copyrights and Material on This Site
This site is, in part, a research site. By this is meant that one of its purposes is to highlight some of the research directions we are pursuing in the preparation of our documentary films. By presenting material found through our own interviews and investigations as well as information found on the Internet, we sometimes obtain additional leads, sources of information or comments which can be very helpful as we follow our own investigative trail.
The information which we find on the Internet often clearly is copyright material. Usually, when the information is clearly copyright and if we have not sought republishing permission, we simply link to the source of information. In the case of most videos, for instance, the actual material is not maintained on our site, but is rather, upon a user’s request, fed through to our site in real time via embedded link. This includes videos posted on public sites like YouTube. These sites are known to respond rapidly to requests from copyright holders to remove copyright material . So if the material persists on these site, we therefore assume that a) the video uploader had permission or a legal right to upload such material or b) that the copyright holder isn’t too concerned about the video footage appearing on YouTube or a similar site, possibly because it serves to promote their product, organization or agenda.
However, it is our firm policy to immediately remove such material or links if any legitimate copyright holder notifies us. For contact information to do this, see Contact on the main menu.
